Skincare Superfoods Intro
As a skincare company, we’ll be the first to tell you that what you put on your skin is important. But what’s often forgotten is that what you put in your body is just as crucial. If you love skincare as much as we do, this blog is for you. We did some research to find out which foods will nourish your skin from the inside out. Bon Appetit!
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: avocados are the sh*t. They’re high in fatty acids that keep skin looking firm and dewy. They can help regenerate damaged skin cells and can reduce redness and irritation. Omega 9’s, in particular, keep the top layer of your skin moisturized, giving you noticeably hydrated and healthy-looking skin.
Blueberries are stock full of antioxidants, which are super important for maintaining beautiful skin. Antioxidants can help fight elements known to damage skin cells and collagen, ultimately causing dry skin, wrinkles and other aging factors. Blueberries are also very helpful in normalizing oil levels and naturally clearing up acne-prone skin! Treat yourself and go full on Violet Beauregarde this summer and get the best glow you’ve ever had!
Tumeric is very in right now. It has a host of amazing qualities but we’re going to focus on it’s awesome anti-inflammatory properties. When your body is inflamed it can be really rough on skin; it can lead to wrinkles and aging in the long term and puffy and tired looking skin in the short term. Both dried and fresh turmeric help to fight inflammation, naturally keeping your skin looking young and fresh.
These three superfoods aren’t the only ones that will bless your face, but they’re certainly a great start. Stay tuned for part 2 of the superfoods series to find out how you can continue eating your way to better skin.
