Did you celebrate Relaxation Day last week? If you’re “go go go” you might’ve missed it – and that’s okay! Summer is a busy time for everyone so we’re here to remind you how important it is to make sure you’re taking some time to really relax, even if it’s just for 60 seconds a day. Not only is relaxation extremely important for your mental health, it’s important for keeping bright, clear skin. We’ve put together a few easy ways to ensure you’re getting the rest you need despite a busy schedule.
1. Keep Bedtime Screen-Free
We know this might sound impossible but avoiding screens an hour before you go to bed is a really great way to wind down. It drastically improves your quality of sleep, which in turn helps you feel more rested and energized in the morning. If you’re skeptical, try it out for a few nights. It might be easier to incorporate into your routine if the results are worth it for you.
A lot of people roll their eyes at the thought of meditation but hear us out – meditation doesn’t need to be a huge chunk of your day! Set aside just 60 seconds of you-time to sit in silence and clear your mind. Sometimes just the act of stepping back and allowing yourself to think about absolutely nothing can be enough to shed stress and feel more relaxed. You may be busy, but you definitely have 60 seconds to spare 😉
3. Meal Prep
If you can swing it, try setting aside some time on Sunday to prep your meals for the week. If you’re one of those people who get stressed about what to cook every night, do yourself a favour and do it ahead of time! A little investment at the beginning of the week will save you time and stress – so you have more time to #relaxxxx
