WAKE UP! It’s your alarm clock ringing! Jump out of bed and get into action. Time to get into the morning routine before you start your day. We’ve spoken about what the best nighttime habits are, but what about some easy tips for when you wake up? What does your morning routine usually consist of? Is there anything important that you can get done that you haven’t been doing? We can think of a few things that might help with your early morning skin care regimen.
Wake Up. Drink Water:
Make water the first thing you consume when rising out of bed. Keep a glass or refillable bottle by your bed on your nightstand. As you start to get up, grab that bottle and get a nice healthy fill of water. Overnight your body doesn’t consume much liquid, unless if you wake up in regular intervals to drink some. Your whole body will thank you for making this a habit. It’s not just a “skincare thing,” but rather a “health thing.” So take that extra step before bed and make sure you have a nice jug of water waiting for you in the morning.
Take care of pores with a Face Mask:
After washing your face for the first time in the morning, apply a face mask. Using products like charcoal peel off masks or dead sea mud masks is a great way to not only wake yourself up but clean out all that dirt stuck deep within your pores. Think of it as a way of killing two birds with one stone. None of us like getting up super early in the morning, so why not wake up with a nice face mask. Sit down for 10 – 15 minutes and enjoy your morning coffee or even get your other bathroom duties out of the way. Brush your teeth, do your hair, while the face mask sits and after you take it off, you’re ready to hit the day! We recommend using face masks if you are looking for extra anti-aging benefits while you go through your routine.
We think moisturizing right after you clean your face is super important, especially after you’ve exfoliated or used products like a face scrub or mud mask. Your skin needs to retain its moisture and with the right lotion or cream, you can help provide the hydration that it needs. Here’s a cool tip: try adding some SPF sunscreen into your daily moisturizer (don’t go overboard). This way, not only can your skin stay hydrated, but it can also be protected from harmful UV rays. Why not add a little extra protection to keep your skin looking young. This is a fave anti-aging hack of ours.
Heavy Make-up or Foundation:
Overusing make-up products can cause your skin to lose its ability to “breathe”. Believe it or not, your skin loses its glow when applying too much make-up regularly. Try to apply light amounts so that your skin isn’t fully covered by a barrier of sorts. Your skin will react better to extra oxygen contact, not to mention that will help you in the long run.
Whatever you do in the mornings, it is important to remember to treat your skin properly in order to expect good results. Hopefully, some of these suggestions can become a part of your daily ritual.
