A lot of us have had experiences with dry skin. For those people that do have dry skin, sometimes moisturizing may not cut it. We’ve put together a few tips and tricks that can help you beat skin dryness and that will hopefully leave you with a healthier looking complexion.
Scrubs: Body and facial scrubs are good products that help reduce dead skin on the surface as well as clean out pores. What you may not know is that regular exfoliation is very beneficial for people with dry skin. If you exfoliate gently every few times a week, this will help speed up circulation in the skin as well as increase skin absorption effectiveness. This means your moisturizers will work better and last longer.
Ordering: The order in which you apply skin care products matters, believe it or not! The ways in which you apply your creams, oils & serums is simple and if done correctly, can help your skin stay hydrated longer. Try to apply moisturizing products on your skin before you apply oils. Oils act as a protective layer or barrier, meaning that if you were to switch and apply oils first, you would not get the benefits of your moisturizing cream. Think of it this way… Moisturize and then protect.
Timing: After showering, your skin begins to lose its moisture very quickly. It is best practice to hydrate as quickly as you can with your moisturizing product. Moisturizers or body lotions like a Retinol Moisturizer and skin care serums such as Hyaluronic Acid would work well in keeping your skin healthy. Incorporating these quick tips into your routine will help keep skin hydrated longer and keep it looking healthier.
