How-To Achieve a Spa-Like Facial at Home: Treat and Tone with My Organic Zone

During this unprecedented time, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and experience many moments of uncertainty, so it’s important to set aside a morning or evening during the week to refresh and repair not only your mind and body, but also your skin! And although certain COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, many are still reluctant to leave their homes. That’s why we’re sharing MOZ products that help treat and tone so you can achieve a spa-like facial in the comfort of your own home! Who says you need to sacrifice safety for the sake of self-care?

Cleanse

Once you’ve created a tranquil atmosphere, complete with soothing candles and calming tunes, you’re ready for step one, which is cleansing!

Remember, whether it’s before a Monday morning meeting or an at-home facial Friday evening, washing your face provides a clean canvas to help carry you through the rest of your self-care ritual.

Steam

Steam really does help you feel like you’re in a relaxing dream!

Not only does it feel soothing but steaming also opens your pores and softens your skin, which helps to prep it for exfoliation and/or extractions.

This process can easily be achieved by placing your face over a bowl of hot water and covering your head with a towel to lock in the steam or simply taking a towel, soaking it in hot water, and placing it on your face. But do ensure that the temperature isn’t as sizzling as stovetop water, as it can burn you. You can also purchase steamers for at-home use if you plan on making facials a monthly ritual. Exfoliate and/or Extract

Now that you’ve cleansed and steamed your face, it’s time to either exfoliate and/or extract, both of which help to remove clogged or dead skin cells. However, many opt for the former, as the latter can be a nightmare for those who aren’t professional facialists or aestheticians. If the wrong amount of pressure is applied and/or extracting tools are used incorrectly, you can be left with damaged and even scarred skin.
